The Lions travel to the Tetley’s Stadium for round two of the 1895 Cup.

Swinton Lions travel to the Tetley’s Stadium to face Dewsbury Rams in round two of the 1895 Cup, with just three games away from Wembley.

The clash is one of five all-Championship ties to be played at this stage of the competition.

Kick off is 3:00pm, with the Cup giving the opportunity for teams in the Championship and League One a chance to play at Wembley following the Coral Challenge Cup final.

Here’s all you need to know ahead of the clash…

FORM GUIDE

The two sides met just last Sunday at Heywood Road in the Betfred Championship, with the Lions claiming their first back-to-back wins in the regular season in three years.

Welsh international Gavin Bennion scored twice in the last five minutes of the fixture to secure a late victory over the Rams after trailing 16-4.

Bennion made his 100th career appearance against Dewsbury, whilst captain Rhodri Lloyd made his 100th appearance in a Swinton Lions shirt.

Matty Ashton also crossed for a try, scoring his 50th point for the club, whilst Rob Fairclough also made the 50 point mark with the kicking duties on the day.

The Rams have won once in their last five fixtures in a close clash against Widnes Vikings, which saw the side claim a 25-24 thanks to a drop-goal from Liam Finn.
