The Lions will host North Wales Crusaders at Heywood Road in a friendly ahead of the 2019 Betfred Championship season.
Swinton Lions will face League One outfit North Wales Crusaders on 20th January 2019 at Heywood Road, completing their pre-season fixtures.
The last time the two sides met was 2015, Swinton’s promotion-winning year. Three games resulted in a draw at Sedgley Park, a loss in the iPro Cup Final at Blackpool’s Bloomfield Road, and then a victory for the Lions at Racecourse Ground, Wrexham.
On the friendly, Swinton Lions Chairman Andy Mazey said: “We are looking forward to welcoming North Wales Crusaders to the Lion’s Den as a part of our pre-season schedule ahead of the eagerly anticipated 2019 Betfred Championship campaign.
“Anthony Murray is a good coach and has recruited very well in the closed season as they look set for a big 2019 having added some quality proven Championship players of the likes of Rob Massam from Rochdale and Karl Ashall from Barrow, just to name a couple.
“It’s a second home fixture and yet another local derby for our supporters to look forward to and exactly the kind of pre-season test Stuart Littler and the staff are looking for.”
Ticketing details for this game will be announced soon, with pay on the gate.
