SWINTONIAN FORWARD JOINS LIONS ON TRIAL

We are delighted to reveal that we have offered an extended trial to another local lad who has a bright future in the game.

Aaron Hall is a top-rated product of Folly Lane ARLFC, and following on from Chris Worrall he is the second Swintonian to join the Lions’ ranks over the past few weeks.

Front-row forward Aaron is a former England Student international, who spent some time with Hemel Stags at the back end of the 2017 season. Following on from glowing local recommendations, our Head Coach Stuart Littler quickly decided that Aaron was worthy of an opportunity with his home-town club.

Speaking on behalf of the Swinton Board, Chairman Andy Mazey said, “It sums up for me the brilliant relationship that this Board enjoys with our club’s fantastic supporters. The fact that Aaron was brought to my attention personally by one of our own fans is not only indicative that we have the respect of our supporters, but also that we do listen to their views.

“Having been made aware of Aaron, a product of our local community club Folly Lane ARLFC, Stuart and I both held conversations with him and did some research. When it also became clear that he was being watched by other professional clubs we decided to act decisively.

“From speaking to Aaron it was evident that he is a proud Swinton lad and he therefore jumped at the opportunity to come and try his hand with his home town club. Aaron is a big and powerful player with lots of potential, so we are only too happy to offer him an opportunity to prove himself in the professional game.

“Aaron’s signing also fits within our wider philosophy of us being passionate about fully re-engaging this club with the Swinton town and its wider community. In the months and years ahead we intend to demonstrate that we really do aim to have Swinton lads in Swinton shirts, and to make this club one that the people of Swinton will want to come and be a part of.”
