Swinton Lions is fully supportive of the Rugby League’s TACKLE IT action plan.

17 March 2021

Our players, coaches, officials, volunteers and supporters stand in solidarity with the Rugby League in the ongoing struggle against racism, discrimination and inequality, across sport and society as a whole.

We believe that tackling racism, discrimination and inequality, and advancing inclusion and diversity, will be a key component to the success and growth of not only our club, but the sport of Rugby League.

However, we want to deliver actual change by our genuine actions. To that end we note that our anti-Hate Crime message, which was recently delivered across all of our social media platforms and supported by many influential people, has already reached 15,000 views.

Furthermore, as soon as covid regulations permit, we will be delivering our Jose Kenga Diversity and Inclusion Project across wide areas of Greater Manchester.

We therefore ask all of our supporters and partners to join us in re-enforcing the message that there should be no place for racism and discrimination in our great sport of Rugby League, nor in society as a whole, and that we stand for equality for all.
