Swinton Lions will face Workington town at Heywood to determine who will take the final place in the Betfred Championship in 2019.
Swinton Lions will host Cumbrian side Workington in a playoff game to determine who takes the final place in the Betfred Championship for the 2019 season.
The Cumbrian side will face the Lions this Sunday after their defeat in the League 1 playoff final, where Bradford Bulls secured promotion to rugby league’s second tier with a 27-8 victory at Odsal Stadium.
Following the Lions’ 8th-placed finish in the Championship Shield, the club must now beat Workington to maintain their position in the Betfred Championship, ahead of the league’s increase from 12 to 14 teams for the 2019 season at part of the new structure changes.
With the Super League Grand Final between Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves also taking place at Old Trafford on Saturday night, it is set to be a big weekend of rugby league in Manchester.
Swinton Lions welcome all rugby league fans as well as those coming to support Workington on Sunday.
Ahead of the game, the club would like to confirm the following ticket prices.
