REECE HAMLETT JOINS LIONS!

29 September 2021

Swinton Lions are delighted to reveal their first new signing of 2022 – Reece Hamlett!

Lions’ CEO Steve Wild said, “We are thrilled to formally welcome Reece to the club, who of course is well known to our fans having already appeared at both centre and wing this year whilst on loan from Bradford Bulls. At the back end of the season Reece added a bit of extra steel and pace to our three-quarter line in both attack and defence, and our coach Allan Coleman was keen to get him to the club on a permanent basis.

“It’s therefore fantastic news to have Reece on board, and in that respect I must pay tribute to our Pridebuilder scheme, whose members have once again been central to this recruitment.”

Swinton Lions Head Coach Allan Coleman added, “I’ve known Reece for a good number of years now, in fact from about the age of 13. Reece is a powerful player and he fits into how I want our team to play next year. I think he’s already demonstrated to our fans that he wants to be part of the Swinton Lions family, and I can’t wait to work with him in pre-season and get the best out of Reece Hamlett in 2022.”

Reece himself was also delighted at signing for the Lions. He said, “I can’t wait to start the new season at Swinton Lions. During my time on loan at the club I really felt at home and welcomed by a fantastic team of players and staff.

“The playing style at Swinton really suits me and I think I’ll find some great form there, and help the Lions get back up into the Championship where they belong. I’d like to thank everyone at Swinton for their help in getting the deal done, and I’m really excited to see what the next 12 months holds.”

Welcome Reece to Swinton Lions!
