Four players have been shortlisted for May’s Player of the Month, after the Lions secured two victories, going back-to-back for the first time in three years.

Voting closes Wednesday June 5 at 5:00pm.

Luke Waterworth

Luke Waterworth played a massive influential part in both victories over Rochdale Hornets and Dewsbury Rams.

The hooker was announced as Sky’s Man of the Match during our Summer Bash fixture, and again was a massive part in the side’s success over Dewsbury at Heywood Road the week after.

Waterworth has been solid in the middle in both defence and attack, and has played big minutes for Swinton so far this season.

Paddy Jones

Paddy Jones has had a solid month in the middle for Swinton Lions.

Featuring both from the bench and in the starting 13, P.Jones has displayed his toughness for the Lions in 2019 and has impressed fans throughout May.

Making the hard metres and rough tackles, P.Jones is up for the award for his second time this season.

Frankie Halton

Making the move to Swinton from the amatuer game, Frankie Halton has never looked out of depth within the Championship.

The hard-working second-rower scored his first try for the Lions at Blackpool’s Summer Bash, defeating four Rochdale defenders to cross for a four-pointer.

Like P.Jones, Halton is again up for the award for the second time this season after yet another solid month.

Gavin Bennion

The Welsh international has had another impressive month for the Lions.

Gavin Bennion made his 100th career appearance against the Dewsbury Rams at Heywood Road, where his two-late tries helped secure back-to-back victories for Stuart Littler’s side.

The forward also featured in Rugby League World’s Championship Team of the Month, alongside teammate Matty Ashton.
