LIONS WELCOME THIS AND THAT AS 2019 SPONSORS

22 November 2018

The club is delighted to announce a new and innovative sponsorship deal with Manchester-based boutique restaurant and café, “This and That” for the 2019 Betfred Championship season.

Swinton Lions are proud to announce another significant new and innovative sponsorship deal, this time with the Manchester-based boutique restaurant and café, “This and That”.

Lions Operation Director Steve Wild explained, “I’ve been a regular customer myself for over 30 years and “This and That’s” motto of “Manchester’s Hidden Gem” scarcely does it justice.

“The quality of food and service is absolutely outstanding, and all presented in a friendly and unique bohemian atmosphere, very much in keeping with the Northern Quarter. I’m aware that owners Ismail Mallu and his son Mohsin are big Bolton Wanderers supporters, but they are increasingly intrigued about professional Rugby League.

What’s also exciting for our club is that this agreement will give us access to a totally new and diverse market right at the centre of the most fashionable area of Manchester.”

Mohsin Mallu, co-owner of “This and That” added, “We are really looking forward to enjoying our partnership with Swinton Lions, and we wish the club all the very best for the 2019 season. This is a new adventure for us, but we are excited by the possibility of mutual benefits. “This and That” has become an integral part of the Manchester scene, so we have something in common with the Lions who also have a long and loyal following. And of course we are very much looking forward to welcoming all Swinton Lions supporters to “Manchester’s Hidden Gem”!

ABOUT “THIS AND THAT”

Centred in Manchester’s fashionable Northern Quarter for the past 35 years, “This and That” has steadily built up a knowledgeable cult following across a diverse customer base, serving their delicious and unique combinations of authentic Indian and Pakistani food.

It is ranked in the top 50 restaurants across the whole city, and was the subject of a column by the well-known “Mail on Sunday” food critic Tom Parker-Bowles, the future King’s son-in-law, who declared enthusiastically, “It should be the law to have a “This and That” in every town in the country!” There is nothing fancy about the interior design, just a nod to the Northern Quarter ethos with its Hacienda style stripes, but it serves outstanding Asian food at unbelievable value.

Find This and That at 3 Soap Street, off Thomas Street, Manchester Northern Quarter M4 1EW, and enjoy a quality and plentiful rice and three curries dish with chapati or nan for a bargain £7 or less.

Opens at 11.30am seven days a week. Closes 4.30pm from Monday to Thursday; 8pm Friday and Saturday; and 4pm on a Sunday.
