LIONS’ COMMUNITY PROGRAMME GOES FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH

The Swinton Lions England Talent Pathway (ETP) continued last night with 60 young people from across Greater Manchester and the north west attending three excellent sessions delivered by our Development Coaching Team under the leadership of the Lions’ Head of Youth Development, Dougie Owen.
These open access coaching sessions are ongoing and will be delivered on the last Monday of every month until the end of November 2022.

The next session is planned for Monday 30th May,  between 6pm and 8pm, at the AJ Bell Stadium.
The three age groups are:-
 Under 12s (for children in years 6/7 at school).
 Under 14s (for children in years 8/9 at school).
14+ (for children in years 10/11 at school).
Our affiliated junior teams, under the banner of Manchester Lions, are also looking for new young participants to Rugby League. This programme is open to players between the ages of 9 and 16, and sessions will continue on a Monday evening between 6pm and 7.30pm on the Sale FC training ground at Carrington. Please also note that our female team the Swinton Lionesses opened their league season with a fine win away at Rochdale Hornets on Sunday. Under head coach Martina Greenwood, our Lionesses have a full league season ahead of them, and are are always looking out for new players aged 14+.
