Nick Gregson will join the Lions for the rest of the 2019 Betfred Championship.

Swinton Lions are delighted to announce the signing of Nick Gregson for the rest of the 2019 Championship season.

Gregson, 23, will join Stuart Litter’s side for the remainder of the Championship campaign, adding strength to the forward pack.

The former Wigan Warrior player made three appearances for the Lions during 2016-2017, scoring one try on dual-registration from the Super League side.

The second-rower joins from Leigh Centurions, with the signing also assisted by Pride Builder, who have played a massive part of the Lions this season.

Gregson is a product of the Wigan Academy, and made his first team debut in the 28-6 win over Leeds in 2016.

He has also appeared for Workington Town and Oldham.

On the signing, Chairman Andy Mazey commented: “Nick is a really good footballer who was on our radar before he re-signed with Leigh Centurions for this year.

“With the business end of the season now upon us, Stuart was really keen to add some depth and quality to the playing squad and he identified Nick as someone who could really add to the mix.

“I’m therefore delighted to have been able to secure Nick’s services for the remainder of the season with the help and support once again of our Pride Builder fund.

“I would also like to place on record my thanks to Derek Beaumont and John Duffy for their help on this one.”

Gregson could make his second debut for the club this weekend as Barrow Raiders travel to Heywood Road.
