Swinton Lions are delighted to announce that Wigan Warriors second-rower Macauley Davies will join the club on loan until the end of the Championship season.
A product of the Wigan academy, Davies has represented England at Academy level and has also had spells at Workington Town and most recently spent a month on loan at Halifax RLFC.
The 21-year-old has already appeared twice for the Lions on dual-registration this season in their Championship opener away at Toulouse and home clash against Batley Bulldogs.
On the signing, head coach Stuart Littler said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be able to announce Macauley Davies on loan until the end of the season.”
“Macca impressed whilst on dual with us earlier in the season. We identified the need to strengthen in the back row area which will allow players who have been covering to play in their favoured starting positions. Macca will come directly into contention for this weekends game.
“Can I personally thank our Chairman, Pride Builder Fund, Matty Peet, Kris Radlinski and all at Wigan for their support with this deal. I am sure the Swinton faithful will give Macca a welcome return on Sunday.”
Catch Macauley Davies in action as Swinton Lions host Featherstone Rovers this Sunday 15th July at Heywood Road, 1:30pm kick off. Tickets are available on the gate priced at £18 for adults, £13 for concessions and juniors have FREE admission.
The club welcomes you to join us for an ‘all you can eat’ breakfast at Heywood Road from 11:30am ahead of the game and encourages you to stay around after the conclusion of the Championship clash for the World Cup final, set for a 4pm kick-off.
