BRICKHILL COMMITS TO LIONS FOR 2021

25 July 2020

Swinton Lions are delighted to announce that Billy Brickhill has agreed a new one-year deal with the club for the 2021 season.

The latest Lion to confirm his commitment to the club for 2021 is the popular, consistent and versatile Billy Brickhill.

Originally a product of the Cadishead Rhinos club, Billy joined the Lions ahead of the 2019 season after being crowned Young Player of the Year at Rochdale Hornets.

To date he’s notched up 29 appearances in a Swinton shirt, and will be looking to add significantly to that number in 2021. Billy is a whole-hearted player who never lets the side down, and is greatly appreciated by the coaching staff, his team-mates and fans alike.

‘BILLY HAS A GREAT WORK ETHOS’

Head Coach Stuart Littler was delighted with the news that Billy has officially extended his stay at Swinton. He said, “I’m very happy that Billy Brickhill has decided to take up his option for another year with the Lions.

“Billy has worked consistently hard with us from day one and is a very valuable squad member due to him being able to play well in numerous positions.

“Billy is a very popular member of our squad and is probably up there with being one of the fittest in our team. He has a great work ethos and comes from a lovely family who help him keep grounded and humble.

“Over the next couple of years there is significant potential for Billy because he really buys into his own self-development. We are on a journey of continued joint-progress and I am delighted that Billy has bought into the club’s vision.”

Upon extending his stay with the club, Billy Brickhill added, “I’m very pleased and over the moon to be extending my stay at Swinton Lions. I’ve loved my time so far playing in front of the fans who are an incredibly loyal group.

We’ve got a good young talented squad and a great coaching team that pushes us to get better. Hopefully we will continue to keep growing and improving as a team and finish higher than we did in 2019.”
