Swinton Lions RLFC are delighted to confirm that Mike Porter has signed for the 2027 season!

After impressing during his loan spell from Wigan Warriors in 2026, the promising young forward returns to the Lions looking to build on his performances and continue his development under Head Coach Anthony Murray.

𝗠𝗜𝗞𝗘 𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗘𝗥:

“Really enjoyed my first season on loan at Swinton and I’m glad to have signed for another year.

This season I intend to build on last year, keep improving all aspects of my game and push myself to become a better player. I want to bring more consistency, work hard for the team, improve my performances week in, week out and help Swinton achieve its goals.

Looking forward to getting started and ripping it up alongside my teammates.”

𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗡𝗬 𝗠𝗨𝗥𝗥𝗔𝗬:

“Mike came to us on loan from Wigan to get some experience playing open-age rugby, and he fitted into our group straight away. You could see from the off the good habits that had been installed in him at Wigan, along with his general all-round playing ability.

Mike is another up-and-coming young player who has shown a lot of promise during his time with us. I’m sure he’ll continue to improve the more experience he gets at this level, and we wish him all the best going forward.”
