SWINTON LIONS 0
DONCASTER 56
IAN RIGG Heywood Road Sunday
Doncaster completed the double over the Lions running in ten tries in a game that swung end to end with the Lions having some great chances and not taking them, but Doncaster were clinical with theirs. Bureta Farimo put his side ahead after only three minutes crossing in the corner and Connor Robinson converted. Five minutes later they were in again when Muzz Mustapha tore a hole in the defence for James Glover to convert but no conversion on this one. There was then a period of Lions attack, but they could get over the Doncaster defence. Gav Rodden made a break before losing the ball in a one one tackle and minutes later Watson Boas finished off a move to score with Robinson Converting. The Lions lost playmaker Reece Briers on the half hour with a leg injury never to return, there was lots of Doncaster building up to the break and the defence finally cracked when Luis Johnson crossed after a good movement and Robinson converted to give them a big score at the break. Mustapha claimed a try of his own five minutes into the second half despite a brilliant break by Lions fullback of eighty metres before he ran out of support and the ball went lose. Robinson converted. The Lions then lost Aaron Willis to a HIA and he too never returned. Glover then scored his second following a Robinson kick and the provider added the conversion. His third followed four minutes later and again the conversion was good. Boas added his second on sixty-seven minutes after a good passing movement and Robinson again converted from the touchline. Jordan Brown was held up for the Lions on seventy minutes and a kick from Tom Ratchford was too strong at the next tackle. Suaia Matagi scored a nice individual try with four minutes left when he dummied through to score under the posts and Robinson converted, Fariamo scored his second try with two minutes left after a break down the right and this time Robinson hit the post with the conversion attempt. The very last play of the game found Issac Misky being shown a red card for a use of an elbow in the tackle the second time he had been red carded in the last two games.
