LIONS v SHEFFIELD EAGLESSunday 15 March 2026 – Kick-Off 3pm This coming Sunday we welcome Sheffield Eagles to Heywood Road in the Preliminary Round of the 1895 Cup, the knockout tournament reserved for non-Super League clubs. It’s a tough assignment for Swinton against an established top-end Championship outfit, but the Lions will be giving it their best and hoping to win through to a First Round tie away against Rochdale Hornets on Sunday 19 April. As always, the Lions would very much appreciate your support. Match tickets are available via our website at https://swintonlionsrlfc.co.uk/tickets/ whilst cash or card payments are also welcome on the gate on the day.
CHAMPIONSHIP FIXTURE NEWSFollowing the exclusion of Featherstone Rovers from the 2026 Championship fixture list, the Lions are left with a blank weekend on 21/22 March. Seven days later, on 29 March, we face Doncaster at the Eco-Power Stadium (DN4 5JW), with a 3pm kick-off. It was good to hear that Halifax Panthers have been resurrected in time to resume their 2026 fixture obligations. Therefore, please note that the Lions will entertain Halifax at Heywood Road on Sunday 7 June, and travel to The Shay on Sunday 5 July.
