Swinton Lions are delighted to announce the signing of promising young forward 𝗟𝗮𝘆𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗝𝘂𝗽𝗽 for the 2027 season!

A powerful, physical forward who enjoys the tough work in the middle, Layton arrives with plenty of potential, having been named Leigh Leopards’ Academy Player of the Year in 2025.

After impressing during his opportunities at senior level with Widnes, Layton will add strength, energy and competition to the Lions’ pack.

𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗠𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗱:

“Layton is a big, physical, no-nonsense forward who isn’t afraid of the hard work in the middle. He’s got a strong work ethic, carries the ball with intent and enjoys the physical side of the game.

“We’re looking forward to working with Layton and helping him continue his development. I’m confident he’ll be a great addition to our pack.”

Welcome to the Lions, Layton!
