One Year of Swinton Lions Wheelchair Rugby League! 🦁♿
Today marks one year since the launch of Swinton Lions Wheelchair Rugby League, and what an incredible journey it has been.
From humble beginnings with just three players, the club has grown into a thriving squad of more than 20 players, ranging in age from 7 to 60+, united by a passion for rugby league, inclusion, and community.
Over the past 12 months, we’ve welcomed new players and families, developed skills and confidence, created lasting friendships, and built something truly special within the Swinton Lions family.
Head Coach Dan Robinson said:
“I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve achieved in just one year. We started with three players and a vision to create an inclusive environment where everyone could enjoy wheelchair rugby league. To now have a squad of more than 20 players aged from 7 to over 60 is incredible. The commitment, enthusiasm and support shown by our players, families, volunteers and the wider club has been outstanding. This is only the beginning, and I’m excited to see what the next year brings for Swinton Lions Wheelchair Rugby League.”
Thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey so far. Here’s to celebrating our first anniversary and many more years of growth, opportunity and success ahead.
