Manchester Swinton Lionesses remain in top spot in the National Championship with an emphatic victory over Hull Kingston Rovers ladies. The Lionesses will face Rovers again in two weeks’ time when they are back on Humberside to play the semi-final of the Championship Shield and of course the Lionesses are the current holders of that trophy. Twenty-six points were scored in the first half with Tamika Bull, Sammi Simpson, Maddie Higson, Leila D’Symonds and Chloe Newbigging all scoring tries and Maddie Higson kicked three conversions, three more tries in the second half coming from Grace Pritchard, Chloe Newbigging and Sydney Alderman-Smith going over the whitewash and Maddie Higson added a further goal. The team are in action again this Sunday when they travel to play Castleford Tigers with a 2pm kick off in another league game.
