The Lionesses got on the scoreboard early with a well-worked try from Shannon Stephens, setting the tone in the first half. Hull KR responded strongly, but Swinton’s defence held firm at crucial moments.

Cailey Miller extended Swinton’s lead with a determined finish off a quick tap play, before Hull KR let a kick bounce and Libby Clarke collected the ball and crossed over to put further daylight between the two sides.
