Swinton Lions Announce Smarter Home 4U as Proud Shirt Sponsor of the Swinton Lionesses
The Swinton Lions are delighted to announce Smarter Home 4U as a official shirt and player sponsor for the Swinton Lionesses for the upcoming season. This partnership marks an exciting new chapter for the Lionesses and underscores Smarter Home 4U’s commitment to supporting grassroots sport and empowering women’s rugby league.
Tony Turner, one of the directors at Smarter Home 4U, shared his personal connection to the club:
“Having grown up in Swinton, the opportunity to be part of the Lions family with its rich Rugby League history and forward-thinking ‘One Club, One Vision’ ethos was too good to miss. I could see Station Road from the front bedroom window of our house when growing up. We still have strong family ties to Swinton — my mum still lives locally, as do my daughter and granddaughters. As a nod to the original club, I live in Pendlebury. Supporting the Lionesses feels like a natural fit, especially with the recent growth of the women’s game.”
This partnership builds on Smarter Home 4U’s previous involvement with Swinton Lions, including sponsoring a match ball last season. Ian Burns, another director of Smarter Home 4U, is a regular attendee at Swinton Lions games, which made expanding the partnership to support the Lionesses a logical next step.
Tony emphasised the importance of role models in women’s sport:
“The recent signings have really strengthened the team, and as a grandad to two young girls, I see this as a fantastic opportunity to expose them to incredible role models. It’s inspiring to see women represented in rugby league. The Swinton Lions Foundation also does brilliant work engaging the community and schools, including the school my granddaughters’ attend, which reinforces our shared values and commitment to the local area.”
Jason Harborow, Chair of the Swinton Lionesses, highlighted the importance of this partnership:
“The growth of the Lionesses depends on the support of our partners, and we are really appreciative of the support Smarter Home 4U has given to the club—not just the Lionesses but the club as a whole. Not only will they be sponsoring the shirt, but they are also sponsoring three of the players, Captain Michelle Davis, Sammi Simpson and Lexi Smith. As we continue on our ambitious program, we depend on this type of support.”
This partnership is a testament to Smarter Home 4U’s dedication to supporting grassroots sport and empowering women’s rugby. The Lionesses look forward to a successful season ahead with the support of Smarter Home 4U!
