Second-rower or centre Rhodri was born at Caerphilly, and made his international debut for Wales at the age of just 17. In 2015 he was part of the Welsh team that won the European title, and in 2016 he had the great honour of being named captain of his country. Then in autumn 2017 he appeared in all three of Wales’ World Cup matches down-under. Rhodri has also become an important player for the Lions, and last season he scored four tries in 22 appearances – one a key effort against Oldham in the huge late-season relegation battle. Rhodri made his debut for Wigan in 2012, and has also appeared on loan for London Broncos and Widnes. He began the 2015 campaign with the Lions on loan from the Warriors, but was subsequently recalled by Wigan before spending further loan periods with Whitehaven and Workington Town. Rhodri returned on a permanent deal for the 2016 season and has now enjoyed two outstanding full campaigns with Swinton.
