Welsh international Rhodri played a pivotal role for Swinton in 2018, a season which he finished with two crucial tries against Workington Town in the play-off final. His performances earned him multiple awards at the Lions’ end of season presentation night – including the Fans’ Player of the Year, the Coaches’ Player of the Year and the Players’ Player of the Year. As the youngest player ever to be capped for Wales, he has also become a key performer for his country. He played a starring role for the Dragons in the 2018 European Championship, as well as appearing in the 2017 World Cup. He originally made his Swinton debut on DR from Wigan during our promotion campaign of 2015, before returning on a permanent basis in 2016. Season 2019 is therefore Rhodri’s fourth full season with the Lions, where his all action style and never-say-die spirit have made him one of the most popular players with the fans.
