Richard arrived at the Lions half-way through the 2019 campaign, making his debut against Toronto Wolfpack at Heywood Road in early June. He scored his first Swinton try in the memorable 34-34 draw at Bradford, and added two more when the Lions comfortably beat Halifax towards the end of the season.

He first started playing Rugby League with Chorley Panthers as a youngster, and from there earned a place on a Salford Reds scholarship scheme. He then moved into the professional game, and has seen extensive action during spells with Oldham, Whitehaven and (in 2018) Rochdale Hornets.

Lepori was actually playing Rugby Union with Sedgley Tigers when the Lions offered him a way back into the Championship, and it was an opportunity that the tough winger accepted with both hands. Being of half Italian heritage, Richard has also been proud to represent Italy, and he played for the Azurri in the 2017 World Cup.
