Will is proud to represent his home-town club, and follows in the footsteps of his grandfather Jim Hope who played for Swinton between 1957 and 1966. Will made his Swinton debut in March 2018 following a stint with Sheffield Eagles. He had originally come through the Folly Lane ARLFC system before joining the Salford Academy set up. He subsequently played four times for the Salford first-team, before going on loan to Oldham and Sheffield Eagles during the 2013 and 2014 seasons. After joining Oldham on a permanent transfer he helped the Roughyeds to the 2015 League 1 title. He spent 2016 with Oldham in the Championship, before transferring to Sheffield Eagles for 2017. Through family connections Will qualifies for Ireland, and he played for the Wolfhounds during both the 2017 World Cup and the 2018 European Championships. Will is undoubtedly a leader in the Swinton squad, and a player of true Championship calibre. He leads by example, with good ball skills, an ability to make hard yards, and is clinical in the tackle.
