Joined Club 01/12/2018

Lewis represented a major capture for the Lions ahead of the 2019 season, having arrived at Heywood Road from close rivals Rochdale Hornets. He is a forward that can keep going relentlessly for the full 80 minutes, which in itself is a rare ability in the modern game.

Hatton played his early rugby league in the St Helens area before joining the under 19s set up at Salford. From there he went to Warrington Wolves, and spent time on loan with the Hornets during their promotion campaign of 2017.

He then joined Rochdale on a permanent transfer for 2018, and scored four tries in 25 appearances for the Spotland club. Lewis had some impressive games against Swinton in 2018 for Hornets, where he won their coveted Player of the Year award, which made him a prime target for Head Coach Stuart Littler.

In his debut season for the Lions in 2019, Lewis was consistently impressive with his direct and aggressive style. He scored two tries in 27 appearances, including one in a crucial 20-18 victory over Batley.
