At Heywood Road, Sale, Saturday 22nd May, kick-off 3pm

In view of current covid and quarantine regulations, it has been agreed with the Rugby Football League and Toulouse Olympique, that the French club’s Betfred Championship fixture against Swinton Lions, originally scheduled to take place in France, will now be played at Heywood Road on Saturday 22nd May, kick-off 3pm.

Supporters wishing to attend the game will be able to purchase tickets via the Swinton Lions website, with the game taking place under the same covid protocol as the Lions’ home match against Dewsbury Rams this coming Monday. Particularly with Toulouse supporters in mind, the game will also be streamed live on Our League.

Swinton Lions Operations Director Steve Wild explained, “We recently successfully staged Toulouse’s home match against Widnes at Heywood Road, and when CEO Cedric Garcia approached us with a view to staging their scheduled game against the Lions here as well, we were only too happy to oblige.

“Again I’d like to thank our stadium hosts Sale FC for their support and co-operation. I know our fans would usually love a trip out to Toulouse, but with that not being possible this year, then hopefully this is the next best solution. Hopefully we will also see a good crowd, albeit within current restrictions.”
