RECORD TICKET SALES & COMPETITION EXTENSION

30 November 2017

The Lions continue to demonstrate their remarkable turnaround in fortunes by announcing that 2018 Season Ticket sales have now exceeded all available recent records, and are likely to be at the highest level since the club departed Station Road some 25 years ago.

In mid-summer this year the Lions were under intense financial pressure, but over the last five months they have undergone a dramatic transformation. This resurgence has been driven by a progressive new management team and has been enthusiastically supported by a truly remarkable fan-base.

Operations Director Steve Wild said, “In July this year we wondered if we’d make it to the end of the season, but the transformation since then has been remarkable. With some serious hard work, the astonishing endeavours of our fans, the assistance of Salford Council, generous input from private individuals, and the coming together of a thoroughly professional new management team, we’ve turned the whole situation on its head. We have just launched a new Academy and player pathway system, we are actively pursuing a new ground agenda with community partners, and the fans are responding in record numbers. If anyone ever doubted the pull of this club, and the fact that we can have a bright future as well as an illustrious past, then all of those doubts must surely have now been dispersed. However, we are not getting carried away and our watchwords are still hard work and sustainability. We know that the 2018 Championship will be tough, and we therefore hope that old and new fans will continue to respond, pushing our season ticket sales even higher.”

SEASON TICKET PRIZE EXTENSION!

Our season ticket sales have now exceeded all available records, and could well be at a level not seen since our days at Station Road 25 years ago! To acknowledge this great response from Swinton Lions fans, we have decided to extend the deadline for entry into our fantastic Prize Draw which features the opportunity to become a “Director for the Day”!

Two season ticket holders will be drawn at random, and invited to join Chairman Andy Mazey and the Board on the day of the Rochdale Hornets home match on 11th February. The lucky winners will enjoy a pre-match meal with the Board including free drinks, and will also be invited into the inner-sanctum of the Heywood Road changing rooms to meet the players and Head Coach Stuart ahead of kick-off. This will be followed by pitch-side photos with your favourite player. As the match itself commences, you will take your seat in the main stand with the directors, and afterwards you will be included in the post-match presentations and take away a souvenir of the day.

Chairman Andy Mazey said, “I’m thrilled that we have already exceeded our sales target on season tickets, and as a thank you to all those who have made a purchase I’m more than happy to put this great prize at the disposal of two of our loyal fans. Hopefully it will also act as an incentive to those supporters who have been thinking about renewing and haven’t quite yet got around to it. We are making excellent progress on all fronts, and further proof of that progress is represented by the really encouraging take-up on season tickets. In fact if we get a good response between now and next Wednesday, I’ll double the number of prize winners to four.”

The last day for Season Ticket purchases will be close of business on Wednesday 6th December.
