It was the first time since 1994 away to Highfield that Swinton have managed to prevent the opposition from scoring a single point on their own turf, so head coach Stuart Littler will be very pleased with his side’s performance.
The clubs then faced in the 1985 Cup in June as Dewsbury came out 44-26 winners at home and ended Swinton’s run in the competition.
Despite Sunday’s game being against a more established side than Whitehaven, if you consider Swinton’s win in their last home game against the Rams and the strong start to the campaign they’ve made, the Lions will be confident of getting another win on Sunday.
So come in numbers, get behind your Lions and let’s make Heywood Road an intimidating place for the opposition to come to.
