The club is pleased to announce the signing of youngster Louis Brogan for the 2020 campaign.
Swinton Lions RLFC is delighted to announce the signing of talented prospect Louis Brogan for the 2020 Betfred Championship season.
Brogan, 19, born in Salford, joins from Leigh Miners Rangers and can cover both in the middle and the back-row.
He joins the likes of Frankie Halton and Joe Digby to sign a professional contract from the Miners.
The youngster was called up for England Youth for the European Championships and was selected in the team of the tournament.
His performances also saw him awarded as the ‘Best Forward’ in the tournament, whilst he was also ‘Player of Year’ for Lancashire Under 19s last year and Leigh Miners’ ‘Young Player of the Year’.
Brogan joins Jose Kenga, Richard Lepori, Joe Digby and Deane Meadows in signing up for Stuart Littler’s squad for the 2020 Betfred Championship season.
“Louis Brogan is a player we have been tracking for the last couple of years,” said head coach Littler.
“We have an extremely close relationship with Leigh Miners Rangers and we support each other the best we can.
“Louis has been a stand out player and has already represented his country at amateur level. Louis has a really good frame for a 19 year old and is keen to progress.
“Louis is well aware that he is stepping up a couple of levels but both Allan and I really feel he can flourish within our environment. We have had a bit of success with recruitment from the amateur scene but it is also down to the individual and how much they want to buy in to their development and progression.
“Again, Louis maps into our recruitment strategy and we are looking forward to seeing just what he can bring.
“Welcome Louis.”
