LIONS MAN OF STEEL JONES COMMITS FOR 2021

11 September 2020

Swinton Lions are delighted to announce that Paddy Jones has agreed a new one-year deal with the club for the 2021 season.

No nonsense middle, Paddy Jones, has become the latest Lion to commit to the club ahead of the 2021 Betfred Championship season.

The 23-year-old Liverpudlian joined the Lions in July 2018 after spells with Villeneuve Leopards in the French League, as well as Dewsbury. He quickly became a firm crowd favourite, and his consistency and total commitment earned him the Swinton ‘Man of Steel’ award at the end of the 2019 campaign.

After signing on for a further season, Paddy said, “I’m really made up to sign again at Swinton Lions. It’s a great club and I’m looking forward to getting back into it with a boss group of lads.”

“PADDY WAS AN UNSUNG HERO IN 2019”

Swinton Head Coach Stuart Littler added, “I am delighted to be able to confirm the retention of Paddy Jones on a new contract.

“Paddy was an unsung hero in our team throughout 2019 and was right up there with our most consistent performers. We intend to work hard to recapture that form and if we can manage that then we will add real value and steel to our squad.

“Paddy is a very humble and down to earth lad who is not afraid of hard work. These attributes make him popular with both fans and our performance team.

“I am made up that he has decided to continue the journey with us and we intend to get the best out of him in 2021. Welcome back Paddy!”
