The club is delighted to announce the signing of Liam Paisley on an initial month’s loan from dual-registration partners Wigan Warriors.

The 21-year-old second rower has featured previously for Swinton in 2017, making seven appearances and scoring two tries. The Cumbrian-born youngster pulled on the famous Lions shirt this season on dual-registration from his parent club in the Championship clash at Barrow in April.

Paisley joined the Warriors in 2014 and has regularly played for their U19 side, before making a step up to the first team in 2018. He was also called for the tour of Australia with the England Academy in 2016.

Upon the arrival of Liam Paisley to the squad, Head Coach Stuart Littler said, “I’m delighted to confirm the signing of Liam Paisley. I would like to thank Wigan Warriors and in particular Matty Peet in allowing us to take Liam on a month’s loan.

“We are entering a pivotal stage within the season with a number of big games on the horizon. Liam is no stranger to the club, our fans or myself. Liam is a very likeable young man who has never given anything less than 100% for our club.

“I am delighted to be able to add a player of his quality into our squad and I am very excited with this signing. Thanks to everyone who has helped with this one. I am sure Liam will receive the welcome back he deserves from the Lions faithful on Sunday.”

Liam will join up with the Lions’ squad for training this week ahead of being available for Sunday’s home game against Barrow Raiders in the Championship.
