HALL RE-SIGNS WITH LIONS

18 November 2018

Forward Aaron Hall has re-signed with the Lions which will see him at the Club until the end of the 2019 season.

Swinton Lions are delighted to announce the re-signing of forward Aaron Hall for the 2019 Betfred Championship season.

The 25-year-old is a product of Folly Lane ARLFC, and joined the Lions ahead of the 2018 campaign. Hall is a former England Student international, who spent some time with Hemel Stags at the back end of the 2017 season.

After impressing Stuart Littler on an initial trial period, the Head Coach quickly decided that Aaron was worthy of an opportunity with his home-town club and was then granted his first professional contract.

The forward quickly became popular with the Lions fans, and scored two tries – both against Batley Bulldogs – during the 2018 Championship competition.

“I’m really excited to be re-signing at Swinton,” Hall told swintonlionsrlfc.co.uk.

“I would like to thank Stuart, the rest of the staff and the fans for giving me the support over the past 12 months and I’m looking forward to the 2019 season.”

On the re-signing and the extra competition in the forward pack, Littler added: “Another bit of great news with the re-signing of Aaron Hall. Aaron is a local player who came to us last year after impressing in a trial.”

“Aaron continued his development throughout the year and played a lot of Championship rugby league. Next year Aaron will be a year further in his development and I am continually impressed by his attitude to development.

“He continually asks for feedback and aims to develop all aspects of his game.

Next year we all need to challenge each other to be better. Our forward pack now certainly does not lack size. It I now up to us to educate them to play how we want to play.”

Hall becomes the second forward to re-sign with the Lions this weekend, with the recent announcement of Will Hope committing until at least the end of 2020.

On the news, Chairman Andy Mazey commented: “I’m really pleased to have made the agreement with Aaron and I am looking forward to seeing the next stage of his development under Stuart’s coaching.

“Having stepped up from North West Men’s League last year with Folly Lane, he’s come on leaps and bounds over the season and made far more appearances that we believed he would do last year.

“I’m sure he’ll continue his development through into 2019 and beyond.”
