Following the Government’s recent relaxation of Covid regulations, we would like to provide our supporters with an update in respect of match day attendance at Heywood Road.
Revised online match ticket purchase information, together with our Spectator Communications Plan, can be found at 2021 Match Ticket Purchase & Spectator Communications — Swinton Lions (swintonlionsrlfc.co.uk) We are of course mindful that the Government and the RFL is advising a cautious approach, and that is reflected in our revised Spectator Communications Plan.
Moving forward we will of course continue to provide an online ticketing facility, but as of the match against Oldham on 8th August 2021, we will also revert to allowing cash payments on the main gate.
We are also pleased to confirm that the Downstairs (Steve Smith) Bar will revert to its intended use as of 8th August, with the Away Team no longer utilising it as a dressing room. Our Supporters’ Trust merchandise stall will also be operational once more in the Downstairs Bar. However, for the time being, we would ask bar users to follow the one-way system in operation and not congregate indoors. Instead please take drinks from the Downstairs Bar outside to consume.
In respect of the Upstairs Bar, we still need to control numbers, albeit with a more relaxed approach. Corporate Diners, Club Guests, and 2020 Season Ticket Holders will be welcome to utilise the Upstairs Bar. However, whilst we intend to continue with table service for the time being, which is partly designed to assist our staff, it will now be possible to take your drinks outside. However, all drinks to be consumed outside, obtained from either bar, should be in a plastic container.
2020 Season Ticket Holders (full donators or partial donators) will be able to collect their ticket from the Trust’s Merchandise Stall on 8th August, and then use it to access the Upstairs Bar. Pre-bookings will no longer be necessary for those supporters who qualify for Upstairs Bar access.
Please note that the “Red Zone” for players, match officials and coaching/backroom staff will remain operative, so please bear this in mind when communicating with our stewards and club staff who may need to restrict access to particular areas at certain times.
Finally, to mark the easing of restrictions and as a thank you to our supporters, please look out for an imminent announcement regarding special offers on admission and corporate meals at the Oldham fixture.
