The details for the upcoming 1895 Cup fixture against Dewsbury Rams have been confirmed.

Swinton Lions will face Dewsbury Rams in the second round of the new 1895 Cup on Sunday June 2nd, 3:00pm kick off.

Swinton will travel to the Tetley’s Stadium on June 2nd to face Dewsbury Rams for the second round of the 1895 Cup.

The clash is one of five all-Championship ties to be played at this stage of the competition.

Kick off is 3:00pm, with the Cup giving the opportunity for teams in the Championship and League One a chance to play at Wembley following the Coral Challenge Cup final.

Swinton Lions marquee forward Gavin Bennion has admitted his excitement for the Cup clash, and thanks fans for their support on the road so far this season.

“With just three games between you and Wembley, I think it’s really exciting and a good incentive for any player,” Bennion said.

“I think the idea of being three games away from playing at the biggest stadium in England is big buzz for the whole team.

“Dewsbury is a tough game. They know how to play their pitch very well and they’ve always been a tough team. They run hard, tackle hard and do the basics right. It’s a winnable game, but everyone’s got to be in the right frame of mind to do that and get the win.

“I think all the Swinton fans would love to see their team at Wembley. They’ve travelled really well this year, including the Toronto trip with a good amount making the journey to the other side of the world. It’s really good commitment and we can’t thank them enough.”
