SWINTON ANNOUNCE DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

Swinton Lions are delighted to announce a new Director of Development.

Swinton Lions RLFC is delighted to welcome a new addition to its senior management team.  

Joining the club in the role of Director of Development with immediate effect is Damian Ridpath.

Damian has extensive experience in managing community projects which use sport as the primary tool to engage young people in positive activities. He also has significant knowledge of working within Local Authority and National Governing Body Frameworks, as well as working within an elite sport environment.

Damian’s responsibilities will be to lead a re-branded and re-focussed Lions’ Foundation, as well as manage the club’s community and development projects moving forward. Upon his appointment Damian said, “I am really pleased to be joining Swinton Lions.

“The heritage and history of this famous name in Rugby League is already self-evident. However, we must look to the future and we will quickly formulate a thorough strategy and action plan for the club’s development moving forwards.

“It is a very exciting time to be joining the organisation and to have the opportunity to lead on key initiatives.”

The Lions’ Operations Director, Steve Wild, added, “I was introduced to Damian by a mutual contact around four weeks ago, and it very quickly became clear that the Board’s aspirations in terms of future development were a perfect match to his experience, skills and infectious enthusiasm!

“We have already started the process of engaging with key partners and stakeholders, and I am enormously enthused by Damian’s appointment.”
